Frequently Asked Questions

What is The Comparison Lab?

The Comparison Lab is an independent comparison site. We research the brands in a category, score them against a published model, and publish a full written review for each one — so you can decide on a single page instead of across a dozen tabs.

How does it work?

Our analysts gather product data, pricing, shipping and returns terms, and customer sentiment for every brand in a category. Each brand is then scored against the same weighted criteria, and an editor writes the review, pros and cons you see on the comparison page.

Which categories can I browse?

We currently cover Fashion, Tech & Software, Marketplaces, Travel, Entertainment and Health, with more categories added as our research team expands. The list grows based on what readers ask for most.

How is this different from other comparison sites?

Two things. First, the scoring model for each category is published, so you can see exactly what a score is made of. Second, every review is open on the page — no truncated summaries and no 'read more' between you and the part that matters.

Who do we work with?

Some details, such as pricing and current promotions, come directly from our partners. Brands change their terms often, so we re-check listings quarterly and immediately after any material change to pricing, shipping or returns.

Does it cost me anything?

No. The Comparison Lab is entirely free for readers. We may earn a commission when you click through to a brand and buy, which never affects a score or a ranking position.

Are your services safe for children?

We do not knowingly work with anyone under 18. If you are a parent and believe your child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will remove it.

Can I read the site on my phone?

Yes. Open thecomparisonlab.com in any mobile browser — the site adapts to phones, tablets, laptops and desktops.

How do you protect my privacy?

See our Privacy Policy for how we collect, use and disclose personal information. In short: we do not sell reader data, and we collect the minimum needed to run the site.

Do you provide telephone support?

No. If you have a complaint or a problem using the site, email us and we'll respond within two business days.

How can my brand get listed?

Send us a note through the Partner with us form. Being listed and being scored well are separate things: commercial agreements never change editorial rankings.

How do you decide the rankings?

Every category has a published scoring model with weighted criteria. Brands are scored against it by our editors, and the ranking is the output — it is not adjusted for commercial reasons.

Do brands pay to appear here?

Some brands have affiliate relationships with us and we may earn a commission when you click through. That never changes a score or a position; paying brands regularly rank below ones that don't.

How often are reviews updated?

Scores are reviewed quarterly, and immediately whenever a brand makes a material change to pricing, shipping or returns.

Can I suggest a brand for a category?

Yes. Send it through the contact form with a short note on why, and we'll consider it in the next review cycle for that category.

How can my brand partner with The Comparison Lab?

Use the contact form and select Partner with us. We'll send our audience data and placement options. Editorial scoring stays independent of any commercial agreement.
